Have a Faith That’s Dry? Drink!

Moments come when the darkness seems so thick you find it difficult to breathe. Your deceiving heart insists it will suffocate you. Perhaps you need to be reminded who gives you breath.
How often have we convinced ourselves that if only we could witness the miracles described in scripture, we would believe? But the Israelites saw and they still didn’t believe. Are we any different?
Our hearts cry out to be known. In a world that leaves so many wounded and empty, that longing to be noticed—to be loved—offers believers a sizable opportunity.
God desires to see what He established in the heavenly realms revealed on Earth’s surface. Genesis 2 gives us a glimpse into God’s ways at creation and the way He works in our lives today.
Distance remains the enemy’s goal, dear one. He wants to separate us from our Creator so that he can render us powerless. But while we might feel better with a little distance, the God who created us does not.
When difficulty comes, we want God to wave His magic wand and fix everything as we bask in the glow of glory. And when God doesn’t choose to do it our way, we don’t like it and stomp away in frustration. But when we do that, dear one, we may just be leaving our miracle on the table.
We want others to see us as capable, confident, and strong. We fail to realize that every crack in our pottery provides a place for the light of the Spirit within us to escape and reveal His glory.
These days, we don’t really expect Jesus to astonish us. When was the last time the glory of Christ’s presence ignited you to share your experience of Him? Let’s change that!
